Spring rains have swollen Iowa waterways, filling Saylorville Lake and topping the emergency spillway at its Dam, causing flooding of Gray's Lake, Birdland Marina, Riverview Park and Court Avenue. The threat of additional downtown flooding threatens power and concerns remain that Des Moines Waterworks will continue to operate.
